The Bio-Energy Pavilion, an initiative of the Indian Biogas Association (IBA), held its third edition from September 28 to September 30, 2022 at the Renewable Energy India Expo, India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The event was a huge success, with an overwhelming response and many trade visitors.

A few statistics from the exhibition are as follows:

  • Number of Trade Visitors: 40,000+
  • Number of Exhibitors: 700+
  • Number of Speakers: 150+

The Bio-Energy Pavilion, set up by IBA and industry stakeholders, featured over 30 bioenergy exhibitors at REI-Expo. The exhibitors represented the entire value chain of the CBG industry, disseminating comprehensive biogas industry information and promoting biogas as India’s sustainable fuel of choice. Over 10,000 trade visitors visited the pavilion, and over 850 business meetings took place. The pavilion catered to a diverse group of industry stakeholders, particularly from the biogas domain, such as SATAT LOI holders, embassy representatives, investors, aspiring entrepreneurs, environmental enthusiasts, academic associates, and renewables-related NGOs.

On the final day, i.e., September 30, 2022, four conference sessions covering topics such as SATAT, Policy and Finance, Bio-energy, and contemporary technology in the field were organised. Panel discussions and presentations by national and international experts from the biogas industry were part of the Biogas Conference. Over 250 participants attended the biogas conference which was addressed by over 25 eminent panellists. The conference proved to be an ideal platform for Biogas and Bio-energy industry participants to congregate, discuss industry challenges, and delve into potential solutions that would aid in the proliferation of industries in a renewable domain or otherwise seeking sustainable solutions.

As it was the only booth devoted to bio-energy, and biogas, in particular, it drew a wide range of interested parties. During the event, the association received 60 confirmations from LOI (Letter of Intent) holders, worth 1,400 crores of investment to set up biogas plants across the country under the SATAT scheme. The maximum number of applications are received from the state of Uttar Pradesh followed by Punjab.
