Indian Biogas Association in coordination with the German Biogas Association facilitated the setting-up of a state-of-the-art biogas laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. The comprehensive testing biogas lab facility at the premises of IIT-BHU is equipped to perform feedstock analysis and various stability tests of digester substrate like Dry matter, Organic Dry Matter, Biogas Production Potential (BPP), Total Alkalinity, Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA), FOS/TAC, dissolved Ammonia, dissolved Hydrogen Sulphide, Acid Spectrum (C2-C6), BOD, COD, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), nutrient analysis (N, P, K), and so on.
We firmly believe that the testing and analysis infrastructure through the lab at IIT-BHU shall pave the way for addressing many major challenges related to scientific waste management through bio-methanisation route in India.
Why choose us: German Biogas Association (GBA) has over 3 decades of experience during the stellar growth journey of the biogas sector in Germany. GBA entered into a 6 years partnership with IBA in 2015 (still ongoing) with the clear objective of providing the needful thrust to the Indian biogas industry across the value chain. The lab at IIT-BHU had been set with due cooperation of the experts from the German Biogas Association, wherein a host of several parameters can be analysed that enables you to make informed decisions while operating a biogas plant
